VALLDA

VALLDA TWO

2022 - 2024

Strategies for building on a sloped site may fall into two main categories.

One may choose to cancel out the effect of the slope — through the construction of a podium, through excavation, or with the implementation of multi stories. This design for a family house in Vallda, south of Gothenburg, Sweden adopts another strategy, emphasizing the fall of the land with a horizontal straight line and allowing it to become a defining characteristic of the architecture.

As a result, the house presents a single-story rectangle, protruding approximately nine meters from the anchoring hill,  highlighting the crossover between  security and the thrilling unsafe.
